Meet Jenni

Jenni has been with us since Feb 2025, and she’s already firmly established as an essential member of the Sherwood House family.

An expert in gardening, cooking, craft – and a pro at hand massages – she keeps our residents active and entertained with her ever-changing programme of events.

She explains: “I’ve always loved gardening, cooking and baking and this job gives me the opportunity to do what I enjoy and introduce these skills to others. I say ‘job’, but it’s not really, it’s a real privilege to spent time here and with all the residents.”

Jenni has a real knack for including people, in a way that suits them. Whether she’s hosting sing-alongs in the dining room, or visiting some of our quieter residents, she’s invaluable at offering comfort and companionship. “I know that some people prefer to just have a quiet one-to-one chat, and that’s ok. We try to involve everyone, at a pace that suits them.”

From planting sunflower seeds, growing vegetables, creating arrangements of homegrown flowers, and arranging for guest singers, Jenni creates a sparkle of joy and entertainment at Sherwood House.

“No two days are the same here, and that’s what makes it so exciting. One day I could be out in the greenhouse with the residents and our gardening consultant Beth, then next I could be hosting a petting zoo. It really is an absolutely pleasure to come to work each day.”
